Description
The client on this project is a local construction company in Hong Kong who also built these containers. Beforehand, the client came to visit ARK's factory on site and had sincere discussions & communications with us about cooperations on this project. Ark had successfully got this order with the quantity of eighteen 30' office containers. These office containers were designed as a double-level block with overroofs, 10 units on the first level and 8 on the second level. Thanks to our designing suggestions that were really welcomed by the client, white milky wood boards were used internally for the containers so that the officers working inside would truly feel it's an office, and patterned aluminium sheets instead of PVC blankets were used on the balcony which were actually the top of the outside 2 units on the second level. Decent effects have been reached.
Structures: On this project 8' x 30' containers were adopted which is one type of ARK's various-sized products. For a standard ARK unit which is 8' x 20', it is composed of roof, corner posts, floor and the wall panels; the roof, corner posts and floor are all welding-shaped with high strength galvanized steel structures. For both the roof and the floor, there are two long-side steel beams and two short-side steel beams with 4mm thickness of the galvanized steel, and 4 steel corner blocks on the four corners but they are different for exclusive roof and floor.

On the roof beams, both long sides and the short sides, ceiling panel brackets are welded on. Over the ceiling panel brackets, certain steel structures like overroof purlines with about 3 degrees of angle to both sides are well-distributed all the way through the long side; in this way, raining water will be down to the groove way on the long side beams and then out of the roof successfully. Above the ceiling panels of the roof, enough insulation materials are put inside the roof framing structures and then steel sheets are fastened on top. Chipboards are used for the ceiling panels on this project.
The four corner posts connect the roof and the floor, on both the top and bottom of which are fastened with high strength bolts. On each corner there are 6 such bolts which can bear the strength of 2 tonnes.
On the right bottom of the floor, iron sheets with certain thickness are sealed on with self-drilling screws. And floor beams are also well-distributed along the long side, then insulations are fully distributed between these floor beams. At this time the floor boards which were chipboards on this project are put on top also with self-drillings, Then floor blankets are glued onto the floor boards. A full floor has been made up.
Insulation: In ARK 30' containers, the insulation is spreaded into three parts: roof, walls and floor. 40 KG/m3 mineral wool with high fire rating was used on this project. For the roof and the floor, the insulations are exclusively distributed on top of the ceiling panels and underneath the floor boards; and the insulations for the walls sit rightly inside the wall panels. The outside sheet for the wall panels is made of steel but the inside layer of the panels are chipboards, between which is filled with mineral wool of above density; and the gaps between the wall panels are sealed with trims, also fiber trims for the gaps between wall panels and ceiling panels and the corner panels. After all the installations are done and the trims finished, the whole unit will be sealed with a perfect insulating effect.
Construction: These containers are shipped with 40' HQs. The project progress was greatly pushed thanks to our units' flexible structures and fast installation features. As long as the units are arrived on site, and the equipments for installation like the crane are ready for erection, the construction team then could be able to open the flatpacks and connect the roof and the floor with the four corner posts. All the corner bolts must be tightened at last. Then it's time to erect the wall panels, and after the wall panels are fastened, the internal layouts could be done in accordance with the prefabricated drawing.
